WELCOME BACK BRIKS!
1500 bricks were coming back to China after a travelling exhibition in Europe. With the help of friends and curious passerby, we gathered to welcome them and organize their “silent insertion into the hutongs”: a reintegration into the urban fabric they were belonging to. The spontaneous performance was taking the form of a pile of bricks, erected in front of former Homeshop art space, resembling one of the many temporary brick blocks left in front of small construction sites. In the following days, people were invited to come, freely take the bricks away and reuse them for other purposes.
